Azure API Management configured as the governed entry point for all AI traffic. Token-rate limits, Azure Content Safety and model-access policies apply across all applications from the start.
Per-application identity
Each application environment has its own Microsoft Entra App Registration and Key Vault secrets. No shared service accounts. Contained blast radius. Independent revocation.
Security-gated CI/CD

What is AI Universe and how does it work?
AI Universe is a governed AI application platform that Fortytwo deploys inside your own Microsoft Azure subscription. It sets up the infrastructure, identity model, AI gateway, CI/CD pipelines and application templates your team needs to build AI applications so you start from a working, governed baseline rather than blank infrastructure. You keep full ownership of the environment; Fortytwo provides the framework and maintains it.
How is AI Universe different from using Azure OpenAI directly?
Azure OpenAI gives you model access. AI Universe gives you everything around the model: a governed gateway through Azure API Management, per-application identity via Entra ID, Key Vault secrets management, security-gated CI/CD, Bicep infrastructure as code and a shared design system. Teams can start building use-case-specific features on day one instead of spending months assembling the platform from scratch.
Does my data leave my Azure tenant?
No. AI Universe is deployed inside your Azure subscription. Your data, secrets, application logic and AI call logs stay within your tenant. Fortytwo does not retain persistent access after deployment. All keys and credentials are stored in your own Key Vault.
Which organizations is AI Universe built for?
AI Universe is built for organisations that want to move from AI experimentation to governed production without rebuilding the same infrastructure for every use case. It is particularly suited to mid-to-large enterprises with existing Azure infrastructure, internal development teams, and compliance or security requirements that rule out third-party AI platforms where data leaves the company’s own environment.
Which AI models can we use?
AI Universe builds on Azure AI Foundry, so you can use the models available there: Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude on Azure and more. Models are reached through one governed API, which means you can switch or combine models without changing your applications, and model access policy is managed in one place.
How long does deployment take?
The platform is provisioned as code with Azure Bicep, so a working environment in your tenant is a matter of hours, not months. New application environments are provisioned with a repository, working codebase, infrastructure and CI/CD, ready for your team to build on the same day.
How are updates delivered?
Platform updates are delivered as new container images that are re-imported into your environment. Application template updates arrive as reviewed pull requests to your own repositories, and infrastructure changes are re-applied through Bicep. You see every change before it lands, and nothing is modified outside your control.
What does AI Universe cost?
AI Universe is a framework subscription at a flat monthly fee. Azure resources run in your own tenant and are billed by Microsoft at cost, and purchases through Azure Marketplace can draw down your Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC). Contact us for current pricing and a deployment plan.
How do we manage AI Universe day to day?
Through one self-service control plane. Policy, governance, galaxies, wisdom and model access are all managed in one place, so day-to-day operation does not require switching between Azure portals. Everything still runs as standard Azure resources in your own subscription, so the Azure portal is never closed to you, it is just not needed for daily work.
