Meet Fortytwo’s newest employee: Markus Raatikainen
12.8.2026, 4 minutes read time.
TL; DR: Fortytwo is growing, and with that growth comes the opportunity to bring new people, experience, and perspectives into the team. As we continue to expand our business and help more customers get value from cloud and AI solutions, we are also strengthening our commercial capabilities.
What made Fortytwo feel like the right place for you?
Markus answers that it was an easy choice. From his very first conversations with Harri and Caroline, he felt that the people at Fortytwo share the same approach to business that he does.
“We have a similar mindset when it comes to collaboration, communication, and how we work with customers. It genuinely felt like home right away,” he says.
Also, the solutions Fortytwo offers were impressive to him.
“The portfolio is perfectly aligned with today’s market needs, and I could immediately see the value it brings to customers. The combination of great people and strong offerings made the decision easy.”
Markus is excited to get hands-on with the sales side of the business and help both existing and new customers get the most out of these solutions.
What are you bringing with you into this new role?
Markus answers that he brings a growth-oriented sales mindset, a strong network across the Finnish IT and cloud ecosystem, and a passion for building long-term customer relationships into Fortytwo.
Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of organizations, helping them connect business objectives with the right technology solutions and create measurable business value.
In addition, he brings experience in developing partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, and opening doors through trusted relationships.
“My goal is to leverage that network, commercial experience, and customer-first approach to help Fortytwo accelerate growth and expand its impact in the market.”
What he brings
Beyond technical expertise, Victor brings a mindset built around improvement.
“It is said that all progress is delivered by dissatisfied people. I am always dissatisfied with the status quo, no matter how good it is, and I look for opportunities to improve any system I am part of.”
But dissatisfaction, to him, is not about negativity. It is about care.
“I bring care. Care for oneself, for colleagues, for the customer and for the environment. So I bring technical expertise, I bring dissatisfaction, and I bring care.”
What did your journey look like before joining Fortytwo?
Markus’ journey has taken him from hands-on cloud and consulting roles to leading business initiatives, business development, and sales-focused positions.
Along the way, he has helped organizations leverage technology to drive business value, improve operations, and accelerate their digital transformation journeys. Working closely with customers, partners, and stakeholders across different industries has allowed him to build strong relationships, understand real business challenges, and identify new growth opportunities.
These experiences have all been part of shaping a customer-first, growth-oriented mindset that he’s truly excited to bring into Fortytwo to help customers unlock the full potential of cloud and AI solutions.
What’s a fun fact about you, or something you enjoy doing in your free time?
Outside of work, Markus enjoys staying active and keeping himself busy with different sports.
“You’ll usually find me at the gym, playing floorball, cycling, or, when winter arrives in Finland, out on the ski tracks doing cross-country skiing,” he says, before continuing with a challenge: “Maybe our Norwegian colleagues can organize a Fortytwo Championship at Holmenkollen one day, although I’m not making any promises about the results!”
Most importantly, he loves spending time with his family and his two boys:
“They keep life exciting, there’s never a dull moment, and they probably do more to keep me on my toes than any sport ever could.”
If you could get rid of one IT buzzword forever, which one would it be, and why?
“I don’t really have an IT buzzword I’d ban, but if I could retire one word, it would be “hurry”.
To me, hurry is often a sign that we’ve skipped the thinking and gone straight to the doing. With a clear plan, shared direction, and steady execution, most things happen exactly when they need to.
As the saying goes, slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.”
Growth and understanding in lockstep
Fortytwo’s growth is about more than expanding our portfolio and customer base. It is also about bringing together people who understand technology, business, and the importance of strong customer relationships.
With new experience and networks joining the team, we are strengthening our ability to support customers across the Nordic market and turn cloud and AI opportunities into tangible business value. And if the Fortytwo Championship at Holmenkollen ever becomes a reality, we may have found our first Finnish contender.
